LAKE LOS ANGELES ZONING STUDY
In order to identify and
properly address the zoning and planning issues that may affect the quality of
life in the Lake Los Angeles area, A zoning study could be initiated which
would follow specific steps, formulate solutions and update the existing zoning
ordinance, as needed, Such study shall be performed in cooperation with and
input from, other county departments including the Department of Public Works,
Fire and Sheriff. As in all such studies, citizen participation shall be a key
element to be included in the process. The following is a brief summary of a
scope of work timeline for undertaking this project. Though a more detailed
estimate will be developed at a later date, this can be viewed as a close
approximation of work and time needed to accomplish a Lake Los Angeles Zoning
Study.
GENERALIZED SCOPE OF WORK AND TIMELINE
PHASE – I DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

Map existing land uses,
zoning, and general plan.

Determine existing residential
densities.

Identify land use conflicts
and locations, if any.

Analyze physical relationship
between land uses.

Review other cities/counties
solutions to similar land
Use issues.

PHASE – II COMMUNITY METTING

Schedule and conduct a meeting of scope to solicit input
From property owners and residents as to
zoning and land
Use issues present in the community.

PHASE – III IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES

Prepare draft ordinance amendments, including transitional
Development
standards and design guidelines. Consider zoning Adjustments for improving the
community’s zoning pattern.

PHASE – IV COMMUNITY MEETINGS

Schedule and conduct at least one and no more than two
Community meetings to solicit input
from affected owners
