News from the Lake Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce

By: Scott Lezak - Vice President, Lake L.A. Chamber of Commerce

Lake L.A. is looking great!  The Chamber of Commerce elections are coming up quickly.  We also have our annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Mixer in December.  I would like to personally thank all involved who helped make Lake L.A. Day run smoothly and end up being such a fantastic event.  A special thanks goes out to the many "Teens" who volunteered their time and assistance providing support wherever they were needed.

John & Angie Finnigan - Our Grand Marshals

John and Angie Finnigan were residents of Lake Los Angeles for many years.  John, with the support of his wife Angie, was instrumental in supporting many issues important to our community.  From supporting our troops in battle, standing up for what is right in the U.S.A., to helping get bike paths and other resources in Lake L.A., he has always been a voice for the community in which he lived.  His many published editorials helped shed a positive light on the spirit of Lake Los Angeles.  Dedicated and true, he always managed to be there for Lake Los Angeles when we needed to get things accomplished.

His trademark white station wagon flying flags of the United States could be found at parades and other events throughout the Antelope Valley, in support of not only the community in which he lived, but his beloved country as well.  We are proud to have John as a part of our Lake L.A. family and as our Grand Marshal today!

"Thank you John & Angie from the Lake Los Angeles Community for your many years of dedication!"

 Chamber Elections

We will have our nominations at the November 10th meeting, acceptance and candidate speeches on December 8th, and elections at our January 12th Meeting in 2005.  You must be a current member of the COC to be elected.  The Lake Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce is here to support existing business, bring in new businesses, as well as supporting the community.  Here’s your chance to get involved.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Our annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be in early December.

Holiday Mixer

We will be hosting a Holiday Mixer also in December.  Remember, whether it’s a home business or storefront, its still a business.  The Chamber is here to work with you.  Come meet everybody and find out what’s going on with your Chamber of Commerce.
